Fresh strawberries
Description
Fresh strawberries are juicy, intensely red fruits with a conical shape, featuring tiny seeds on their surface and a distinct, aromatic scent. Their flavor combines sweetness with a pleasant tartness, making them a versatile addition to both desserts and savory dishes. Nutritionally, strawberries are low in calories, rich in vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants (anthocyanins, ellagic acid), which support immunity, heart health, blood sugar regulation, and have anti-inflammatory properties. In the kitchen, they work well in cakes, mousses, smoothies, salads, jams, and sauces, as well as a topping for yogurts, cottage cheese, arugula salads, or desserts with basil and balsamic. They should be stored in the refrigerator in a breathable container, not washed before storing, arranged in a single layer, or used within 2–3 days; for longer storage, they can be frozen after being spread out on a tray.
