Ripe peach
Description
A ripe peach has a juicy, sweet-tart flavor with a delicate, aromatic floral note and a creamy texture of the flesh. Its skin can be velvety, creamy-yellow with a sun-kissed blush, while the flesh can be yellow or white, easily separating from the pit when fully ripe, making it visually and tastefully appealing. Nutritionally, a peach is low in calories, rich in fiber, vitamins A and C, and antioxidants that support immunity and skin health. It is useful in the kitchen both raw and in desserts, salads, jams, sauces, or grilled alongside cheeses, poultry, and pork, pairing wonderfully with honey, vanilla, and herbs. To maintain flavor, store the fruit at room temperature before ripening, and refrigerate ripe peaches, consuming them within a few days; for longer storage, freeze sliced pieces with a bit of lemon juice.
