Chicken egg, size L
Description
A large chicken egg has a delicate, slightly creamy flavor; the egg white is translucent-white when cooked, firm, and the yolk is intensely yellow to orange, creamy, and slightly fatty in taste. Aesthetically, it adds contrast and richness to dishes. It is a concentrated source of high-quality protein as well as vitamins (A, D, B12) and minerals (selenium, iron) along with valuable lecithin and choline that support brain functions. It also contains lutein and zeaxanthin, which are beneficial for vision; the yolk provides fat and easily digestible nutrients, so moderate consumption is a part of a balanced diet. Large eggs are versatile: they work well in cooking, frying, baking, sauces, and salads. Store in the refrigerator in the original carton, bottom side down, and use within a few weeks; cooked eggs are best consumed within a week.
