Strong coffee, cooled
Description
Strong, cooled coffee is characterized by an intense, slightly bitter, and full flavor with distinct notes of roasting and a dark, clear color. Once cooled, the aromas become less volatile, and the drink gains clarity and a pleasant, slightly astringent texture that pairs well with sweet and dairy additions. In terms of nutritional value, coffee contains virtually no calories or fat; it is a source of caffeine and antioxidants (polyphenols), which can improve alertness, metabolism, and cognitive functions with moderate consumption. However, excess caffeine can disrupt sleep and cause hyperactivity. Cooled strong coffee is perfect as a base for iced drinks, cocktails, desserts like tiramisu or affogato, as well as for marinades, sauces, and cakes, where it enhances flavor. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a maximum of 24–48 hours, avoiding prolonged storage, which can deteriorate the aroma and may lead to the absorption of refrigerator odors.
