Fresh orange juice
Description
Fresh orange juice has a vibrant, sweet-tart flavor with an intense citrus aroma and a clear orange color, often with a slight pulp adding texture. It primarily contains vitamin C, folates, potassium, and antioxidants (flavonoids), providing energy at about 45 kcal per 100 ml; it supports immunity, skin health, iron absorption, and fluid balance, although it has less fiber than whole fruits. In the kitchen, orange juice is used for breakfasts, cocktails, and smoothies, as a base for dressings, marinades for poultry and fish, for glazes, desserts, and alcoholic beverages; it pairs well with honey, ginger, and herbs. Store it in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator and consume within 48–72 hours for best freshness; it can also be frozen in portions for several months.
