Jabłka (słodka odmiana, np. gala, ligol)
Description
Sweet apple varieties, such as Gala or Ligol, have a slightly crunchy, juicy flesh with a distinct sweetness and subtle acidity, as well as a thin skin in shades of yellow, green, and red, often with striping. They are aesthetically pleasing, uniform, and enjoyable to eat raw. Nutritionally, they are low-calorie fruits rich in fiber (pectins), vitamin C, and polyphenols. Regular consumption contributes to better bowel function, a feeling of fullness, may support lipid profiles, and has antioxidant effects, while moderate intake helps maintain a healthy body weight. In the kitchen, they are suitable for eating raw, salads, baking cakes, preparing purees, sauces for meats, as well as compotes and juices; they pair well with cinnamon, cheeses, and pork. Store them in a cool, dry place or in the refrigerator in the fruit drawer, without washing before storing, separating them from strongly ethylene-producing fruits, and removing damaged pieces to prolong freshness.
