Greek yogurt (thick, natural)
Description
Greek yogurt is a thick, creamy, snow-white mass with a slightly sour, mild taste and a velvety texture resulting from the draining of whey. It resembles thick cream in appearance but has a more pronounced, fresh dairy note. It is a rich source of protein, calcium, phosphorus, and B vitamins; it contains live probiotic cultures that support gut microbiota and contributes to a feeling of fullness and muscle recovery. The fat content varies depending on the version, allowing it to be tailored to different dietary goals. In the kitchen, it works well as a base for dips, sauces, and tzatziki, an addition to smoothies and desserts, a substitute for cream in soups or sauces, and an ingredient in marinades and baked goods. Store in the refrigerator at a temperature of 2–7°C, in a tightly sealed container, use within a few days after opening, and avoid contamination when scooping.
