Canned corn (drained)

🌱 Vegetarian 🌿 Vegan

Description

Canned corn (drained) consists of sweet, firm kernels with a light yellow color and a shiny, slightly moist surface. It has a delicately crunchy texture and natural sweetness with a subtle hint of starch, making it a versatile flavor addition. It is a source of carbohydrates, fiber, a small amount of protein, as well as B vitamins, folic acid, and minerals such as magnesium and phosphorus; it also contains antioxidants lutein and zeaxanthin that support eye health. Draining and rinsing reduces excess salt from the brine. Corn is suitable for salads, soups, casseroles, Mexican dishes, dips, and spreads, as well as a complement to grains and rice, adding sweetness and texture. Store an unopened can in a cool, dry place; once opened, transfer to an airtight container and keep in the refrigerator for a maximum of 2–3 days or freeze for several months.
