Cucumber
Description
Cucumber is a crunchy, juicy vegetable with a delicate, slightly sweet, and fresh taste, featuring a thin green skin and light, almost transparent flesh with small seeds that give it a pleasant texture. It contains over 95% water, is low in calories, provides small amounts of vitamin K, potassium, and antioxidants, supporting hydration, digestion, and skin health, as well as aiding in weight control due to its low energy density. In the kitchen, cucumber pairs wonderfully in salads, cold soups, tzatziki sauces, sandwiches, sushi, and pickles; it refreshes dishes and softens intense flavors. Store it best in the cool part of the refrigerator wrapped in a paper towel and in a perforated bag or in the crisper drawer, away from ethylene-producing fruits; after cutting, use within 1–2 days to maintain its crunchiness.
