Flaxseed oil
Description
Flaxseed oil is a golden-amber, clear oil with a subtly nutty-grassy aroma and a velvety, light consistency. It has a distinct, fresh taste that works best when used cold and easily combines with salads, dressings, smoothies, dips, and for drizzling over finished dishes, but it is not suitable for frying or prolonged heating. It is exceptionally rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, especially alpha-linolenic acid (ALA, about 50–60% of the fats), and also contains vitamin E and phytosterols, which support lipid profile, anti-inflammatory action, and skin health with regular use. It should be stored in a dark glass bottle, in the refrigerator or in a cool, shaded place, tightly sealed; once opened, it is best used within 4–8 weeks to avoid rancidity.
