Description
Provolone cheese in slices is a semi-hard Italian cheese with a smooth, creamy-yellow color and an elastic texture. It has a mild, buttery flavor with a nutty note that becomes slightly spicy and more intense as it ages. The slices are uniform, easy to cut, and melt nicely, making them convenient for everyday use. Nutritionally, provolone provides high-quality protein, calcium, and vitamin B12, which support bone and nervous system health, but it also contains fat and salt, so moderation is advisable. It pairs perfectly with sandwiches, casseroles, pizza, toasts, cheese sauces, and cheese boards. Store in the refrigerator at a temperature of 2–6°C, preferably wrapped in parchment or its original packaging and additionally in foil, using within 1–2 weeks after opening; it can also be frozen, keeping in mind that the texture may change slightly.
