Chili powder
Description
Hot paprika powder is a finely ground, intensely red powder with a distinct, spicy flavor and an aromatic, slightly smoky background depending on the variety. It adds heat and depth of color to dishes, and by using it carefully, one can adjust the spiciness from subtle to very hot. It is a low-calorie spice source of capsaicin, vitamin C, provitamin A, and antioxidants, which may support metabolism, have anti-inflammatory effects, and improve circulation. In the kitchen, it works well in marinades, spice blends, sauces, soups, meat dishes, braised vegetables, eggs, and in Mexican or Asian cuisine, as well as an addition to chocolate and dips. Store tightly in a cool, dark, and dry place, in an airtight container, preferably for 6–12 months, to maintain its aroma and heat potency.
