Canned red beans

🌱 Vegetarian 🌿 Vegan

Description

Canned red beans have an intense, slightly nutty flavor and a dense, creamy texture, and their deep burgundy color and shine make dishes look appetizing. Thanks to being preserved in liquid, they retain their firmness, although it is advisable to drain and rinse them before use to reduce salt content. They are a rich source of plant protein, fiber, iron, folic acid, as well as potassium and magnesium, with low fat content. Regular consumption supports a feeling of fullness, stabilizes blood sugar levels, and positively affects lipid profiles and gut microbiota. Red beans are suitable for chili, soups, salads, burritos, casseroles, and spreads; they can be quickly heated or added cold. Unopened cans should be stored in a dry, cool place, and after opening, drained beans should be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consumed within 2–3 days, or frozen for up to 2–3 months.
