Cream cheese
Description
Cream cheese is a smooth, soft cheese with a creamy texture and a delicate, slightly tangy flavor, usually ranging from white to cream in color, easily spreadable on bread. It contains protein, fats (including saturated), calcium, and vitamin A, providing energy and supporting bone health; due to its fat and salt content, it should be consumed in moderation as part of a balanced diet. In the kitchen, cream cheese is used as a base for spreads, dips, cheesecakes, creams, and fillings for pancakes or lasagna, pairing well with herbs, smoked fish, and fruits. It should be stored in the refrigerator in its original packaging or an airtight container at a temperature of 4–6°C; once opened, it is best consumed within 5–7 days. Freezing is possible, but it may change the texture — after thawing, mix well.
