Apricot jam

🌱 Vegetarian 🌿 Vegan

Description

Apricot jam has an intense, sweet-and-sour flavor with a characteristic, slightly floral note of apricot and a warm, golden-orange color; its consistency can be smooth or contain visible pieces of fruit, which adds natural texture and freshness. Nutritionally, it mainly provides simple carbohydrates and calories due to the added sugar, but also vitamin A (beta-carotene), small amounts of vitamin C, potassium, and fiber from the fruit, as well as antioxidants that support eye health and the immune system; however, it is advisable to consume it in moderation due to its sugar content. In the kitchen, apricot jam pairs wonderfully with bread, pancakes, and yogurt, works well as a filling for cakes, a topping for cheeses, and an ingredient for glazes for poultry or pork, as well as an addition to sauces and desserts. Store jars in a cool, dark place before opening; after opening, keep it tightly closed in the refrigerator and use within 2–4 weeks, or portion and freeze for longer storage, always using a clean spoon.
