Edible gold dust (optional)
Description
Edible gold dust is a fine, metallic shimmering powder or flakes made from edible gold (usually 22–24 karats), which has no distinct flavor and adds a subtle, luxurious shine to dishes. The product should be labeled as food-grade (E175) — it is chemically inert, non-toxic, and does not cause allergies, provided it comes from a certified source; it does not contribute significant flavors or calories. Nutritionally, it does not provide any nutritional value or health benefits in the traditional sense, serving primarily an aesthetic and symbolic function. It is ideal for decorating desserts, chocolates, pralines, fine dining dishes, cocktails, and champagne, as well as sushi or cheeses, where it highlights the uniqueness of the presentation. Store the dust in a closed, dry container, away from moisture and light, in a cool place.
