Thick Greek yogurt
Description
Thick Greek yogurt is a creamy, white product with a rich, slightly tangy flavor and a velvety, almost cheese-like consistency created by straining the whey. It is noticeably thicker than regular yogurt, with an intense structure that holds its shape well in dishes. From a nutritional standpoint, it provides high-quality protein, calcium, B vitamins, and probiotics that support gut microbiota; full-fat versions also provide energy from fat, while low-fat versions reduce calorie content while maintaining a filling effect. In the kitchen, it serves universally as a base for dips, sauces, dressings, and marinades, replaces cream in soups and baking, and enriches desserts and breakfasts. It should be stored in the refrigerator in a tightly sealed container at around 4°C and is best consumed within 5–7 days after opening, avoiding contamination and using clean spoons.
