Kardamon w strączkach
Description
Cardamom pods are small, elongated fruits ranging in color from greenish to yellowish-brown, filled with tiny, dark brown seeds. The flavor is intense, sweet-spicy with distinct citrus, eucalyptus, and slightly menthol notes, making it both warming and refreshing. Nutritionally, cardamom provides essential oils (including cineole), antioxidants, and trace amounts of minerals such as magnesium and iron. It is traditionally attributed with properties that support digestion, alleviate bloating, have anti-inflammatory effects, and refresh the oral cavity, although its use should be considered as a complement to a varied diet. In the kitchen, whole or freshly ground pods are used, adding them to coffee, chai tea, desserts, baked goods, curries, and rice dishes. To preserve the aroma, store cardamom in an airtight, opaque container in a cool, dry place; whole pods retain their intensity much longer than ground powder.
