Goat cheese (roll)
Description
Goat cheese (log) is a soft, creamy roll with a delicate, slightly tangy note and a distinct, characteristic aroma of goat's milk. It has a uniform, white-cream structure when cut, often coated in herbs, rind, or nuts, which gives it an attractive appearance and a variety of textures. It works well both as an addition to salads and sandwiches, as well as an element of appetizers with honey, figs, or roasted vegetables, and also as a filling for tarts and pasta. Nutritionally, goat cheese log is a good source of protein, calcium, and vitamin A, and contains beneficial fats and less lactose than many cow's milk cheeses, making it easier to digest for sensitive individuals. It should be stored in the refrigerator at a temperature of 2–6°C, wrapped in parchment paper and placed in an airtight container to avoid absorbing odors; it usually retains freshness for 1–2 weeks, and freezing is not recommended due to changes in texture.
