Lasagna pasta
Description
Lasagna pasta consists of flat, wide sheets of pasta with smooth or ridged edges, usually light beige in color and with a mild, slightly wheaty flavor that pairs well with sauces and rich fillings. The semolina version is primarily a source of carbohydrates and a moderate amount of protein, with a low fat content; whole grain versions additionally provide fiber, B vitamins, and minerals. As a source of energy, it supports physical activity, and choosing whole grain improves feelings of fullness and digestion. Lasagna pasta works well in layered casseroles with meat, vegetables, and sauces (e.g., ragù, béchamel), in vegetarian dishes, and as a creative ingredient in snacks and bakes. Store dry sheets in an airtight container in a cool, dry place away from moisture; cooked or baked lasagna can be stored in the refrigerator for 2–3 days or frozen for 2–3 months, securely wrapped to prevent drying out.
