Fresh raspberries
Description
Fresh raspberries are delicate and juicy, with an intense sweet-tart flavor and a characteristic velvety texture and vibrant red-pink color, with tiny seeds visible on the surface. From a nutritional standpoint, they are low in calories, rich in fiber, vitamin C, vitamin K, manganese, and strong antioxidants (anthocyanins and ellagitannins), which can support immunity, heart health, and blood sugar regulation, as well as promote proper digestion. In the kitchen, raspberries pair wonderfully with desserts, yogurts, oatmeal, salads, sauces, and smoothies, and they also add flavor to dressings or meat dishes as an ingredient in sweet-tart glazes. To maintain freshness, do not wash them before storing, keep them in the refrigerator in a breathable container lined with a paper towel, and consume within 2–3 days; for longer storage, freeze them spread out on a baking sheet, then transfer to a sealed bag.
