Mango pulp
Description
Mango pulp has an intense, sweet-and-sour flavor with tropical notes of peach and pineapple, and a juicy, creamy texture with a golden-orange hue. It is rich in vitamin C and A (beta-carotene), fiber, potassium, and folic acid, as well as antioxidants and digestive enzymes, which support immunity, eye and skin health, regulate bowel function, and contribute to a favorable metabolic profile when consumed in moderation. In the kitchen, mango pulp works well in smoothies, sorbets, salads, salsas, and chutneys, as an addition to fish, poultry, curry dishes, as well as in desserts and baked goods; it pairs well with lime, chili, and coconut. Store slightly unripe fruits at room temperature to ripen, ripe ones in the refrigerator for 3–5 days, and cut pulp in an airtight container with a bit of lemon juice for 2–3 days or freeze as puree for longer storage.
