Frozen green peas
Description
Frozen green peas are small, intensely green balls with a sweet, fresh taste and a delicate, slightly crunchy texture after brief cooking. In frozen form, they retain most of their vitamins and minerals: they are a good source of fiber and plant protein, as well as vitamins A, C, K, and folic acid, along with minerals such as iron and manganese. This supports digestion, feelings of fullness, immunity, and the health of vision and the cardiovascular system. In the kitchen, frozen peas go well with almost everything — perfect for soups, risottos, pasta, salads after thawing, casseroles, stewed vegetables, and skillet dishes; they can also be blended into a puree. They should be stored in the freezer at around −18°C in an airtight container, not thawed long before use, and avoid refreezing thawed products; they can usually be cooked directly from frozen.
