Description
Whole milk 3.2% fat has a mild, creamy taste and a milky white, slightly opalescent appearance; the fat gives it a smooth consistency and a more pronounced flavor than skim milk. It is a source of high-quality protein, calcium, and phosphorus, as well as B vitamins, vitamin A, and often vitamin D (in fortified milk), along with unsaturated fatty acids; it provides energy, supports bone building, and tissue regeneration, although individuals with lactose intolerance should exercise caution. In the kitchen, it is versatile: for morning coffee and cereals, sauces, cream soups, baked goods, and desserts, where it adds structure and flavor. Store in the refrigerator in its original packaging at a temperature of 2–6°C, use within 3–5 days after opening, avoid prolonged exposure to heat; freezing is possible, but it may change the texture.
