Cherry mozzarella
Description
Mozzarella ciliegine are small, round balls of cheese the size of cherries, with a delicate, creamy texture and a mild, milky flavor with a hint of freshness. Externally, they have a smooth, snow-white surface and are often stored in brine or whey, which enhances their subtlety and moisture. They pair wonderfully in caprese salads, on skewers, antipasti, with pizza, sandwiches, and pasta dishes, as well as a complement to roasted vegetables and light appetizers. Nutritionally, ciliegine are a source of high-quality protein, calcium, and B vitamins, containing a moderate amount of fat and salt, which supports bone health and muscle recovery with moderate consumption. They should be stored in the refrigerator, preferably in their original brine or in fresh, lightly salted water, used within a few days after opening, and not frozen to maintain their structure and flavor; before serving, it's advisable to bring them to room temperature.
