95% spirit or vodka
Description
Spirit 95% and vodka are clear, colorless spirits with an intense, sharp aroma and a burning taste; spirit is much sharper and requires dilution, while vodka is milder and more neutral in aroma. Nutritionally, both provide virtually no proteins, fats, or vitamins — their energy value comes from alcohol (about 7 kcal per gram). In small amounts, alcohol can have a relaxing effect, but excessive consumption is harmful to health and increases the risk of many diseases. In the kitchen, they are used for extracting flavors, making tinctures, liqueurs, and essences, for flambéing, defatting, macerating fruits, and preserving. Spirit 95% is often used for tinctures and extracts that require a high concentration, while vodka works well in cocktails and sauces. They should be stored in tightly closed bottles in a cool, dark place, away from heat sources and children.
