Shelled sunflower seeds
Description
Shelled sunflower seeds are small, teardrop-shaped grains with a creamy-yellow color and a subtly nutty, slightly sweet flavor, along with a creamy, crunchy texture. They are rich in healthy polyunsaturated fats (mainly linoleic acid), plant protein, fiber, as well as vitamin E, magnesium, selenium, and B vitamins, which contribute to antioxidant properties, support for the cardiovascular system, metabolism, and immunity, as well as benefits for skin and joints. In the kitchen, these seeds work well as an addition to salads, muesli, bread, cookies, green pesto, soups, and homemade bars; they can be roasted as a snack or blended into butters and spreads. Store in an airtight container in a dry, cool place, and for longer freshness, keep in the refrigerator or freezer, away from light and heat to prevent rancidity.
