Nduja

🌶️ Spicy

Description

Nduja is a Calabrian, spicy spreadable salami with an intense, sharp flavor of chili peppers and a delicate, smoky note of pork. It has a soft, paste-like consistency and a deep red-orange color, most often sold in jars or thin casings, easy to spread on bread. Nutritionally, nduja is rich in fat and protein and provides B vitamins and iron, but it also contains a significant amount of salt and saturated fats, so it should be consumed in moderation. It pairs wonderfully with pasta, pizza, sauces, soups, and as a spread on bruschetta or an addition to stewed vegetables. Store in the refrigerator after opening (2–6°C), preferably in an airtight container; you can also cover it with a thin layer of oil to extend freshness; portions can be frozen for several months.
