Dried chili threads (garnish)
Description
Dried chili threads are thin, fibrous strands with an intense red to burgundy hue, possessing a dry, slightly smoky aroma and a distinctly spicy, peppery flavor. They give dishes a striking, elegant appearance and a sharper accent without adding moisture, serving as both a decoration and a concentrated source of flavor. Nutritionally, they are low in calories, containing capsaicin as well as antioxidants and vitamins (especially A and C), which support metabolism, circulation, and exhibit anti-inflammatory properties. They are most commonly used as a finishing touch and seasoning in Asian and Mediterranean cuisine — for noodles, soups, salads, fish and meat dishes, risottos, or cheese boards. Store in an airtight, dry container away from light and moisture; in a cool, dark place, they retain their aroma for many months.
