Rapeseed oil (or neutral oil)
Description
Rapeseed oil (or neutral oil) has a light beige to golden color and a mild, almost neutral taste with a slight, pleasant nutty note in the background, which means it does not dominate dishes. It is clear and liquid at room temperature. Nutritionally, it is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, especially monounsaturated and alpha-linolenic (omega-3), has a relatively low content of saturated fats, as well as vitamin E and phytosterols, which support lipid profile and cardiovascular health with moderate consumption. Thanks to its neutral flavor and high smoke point (for refined oils about 200–230°C), it is perfect for frying, baking, stewing, preparing sauces and dressings, and as a base for marinades. Store in a tightly closed bottle, in a cool, dark place away from heat sources; after opening, use within a few months, and refrigeration will extend shelf life (may cause cloudiness that disappears upon warming).
