Sunflower oil
Description
Sunflower oil has a delicate, slightly nutty flavor and a clear color ranging from light orange to golden, depending on the refinement. It is liquid with low viscosity, which means it does not overpower dishes but enhances their natural aromas. It is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, especially linoleic (omega-6), contains little saturated fat, and is a source of vitamin E with antioxidant properties. By choosing high-oleic variants, we gain more monounsaturated acids and greater thermal stability, which positively affects the lipoprotein profile when replacing saturated fats. Sunflower oil is excellent for frying, baking, stewing, and as a base for dressings and mayonnaise due to its neutral flavor and high smoke point. It should be stored in a sealed container, in a cool, dark place away from heat sources; once opened, it is advisable to keep it in the refrigerator or use it within a few months to avoid rancidity.
