Orange
Description
The orange is a round fruit with smooth, orange skin and juicy, sweet-tart flesh that combines an intense citrus aroma with a delicate acidity. From a nutritional standpoint, it is an excellent source of vitamin C, fiber, folate, potassium, and antioxidant flavonoids, which support immunity, skin health, the circulatory system, and digestion, as well as help maintain proper hydration in the body. In the kitchen, oranges are versatile: they are great for eating raw, juicing, seasoning salads, sauces, marinades, desserts, and baked goods, as well as for crafting drinks; they harmonize with fish, poultry, nuts, chocolate, and herbs. They should be stored at room temperature for a few days or in the refrigerator for about two weeks, keeping the fruits whole and dry; once cut, the flesh should be stored in an airtight container and consumed within 1–2 days, while the peel and juice can be frozen for longer use.
