Cherry tomatoes
Description
Cherry tomatoes are small, round fruits with vibrant colors ranging from bright red to yellow and purple, featuring a thin skin and a juicy, sweet-tart flavor that can add freshness to dishes. They have a firm flesh and a pleasant crunch, and their aroma is more concentrated than that of larger tomatoes. They are low in calories, rich in water and fiber, and provide vitamins C, A (beta-carotene), potassium, as well as lycopene and flavonoids with antioxidant properties, which support immunity, heart health, and reduce oxidative stress. In the kitchen, they are suitable for salads, bruschetta, pasta, baked as a side for meats, grilled or preserved, and serve as a healthy snack. Store them at room temperature away from direct sunlight, without washing before storage; in a cooler place (refrigerator), keep them for a short time, taking them out a few hours before serving to regain their full flavor.
