Ras el hanout spice

🌱 Vegetarian 🌿 Vegan

Description

Ras el hanout is an aromatic spice blend from the Maghreb, with a warm, multi-layered flavor that combines earthy, spicy, and floral notes — typically featuring cinnamon, cumin, coriander, turmeric, cloves, and paprika, with a color ranging from golden-yellow to dark brown. It usually has a finely ground texture and an intense aroma that enhances dishes without one ingredient dominating. As a spice blend, it is low in calories and rich in antioxidants and compounds with anti-inflammatory and digestive properties from the individual spices, which support immunity and digestion. It pairs perfectly with tagines, braised meats, couscous, rice, vegetables, marinades, and baked dishes, as well as for seasoning yogurts or nuts. Store in an airtight, dry, and dark container in a cool place, ideally to be used within 6–12 months; whole spices retain their aroma longer.
