Smoked trout (fillet)

Description

Smoked trout (fillet) has delicate, slightly salty, and subtly smoky aromas, and its flesh is pink-orange, juicy, and flaky-easily separable. Its appearance is attractive with a translucent layer of fat and the sheen of the skin, making it look great on appetizers and sandwiches. It is an excellent source of high-quality protein, long-chain omega-3 fatty acids (EPA, DHA), vitamin D and B12, and selenium, which supports heart health, brain function, and the immune system. In the kitchen, it pairs well with salads, tartines, pasta, whole grain baguettes, eggs, and spreads, as well as serving as an elegant appetizer with dill and lemon. Store in the refrigerator at a temperature of 0–4°C, tightly wrapped or in its original packaging; consume within 3–5 days after opening. It can be frozen for 2–3 months, preferably vacuum-sealed, keeping in mind that the texture may change slightly.
