Cream cheese
Description
Cream cheese is a mild, slightly tangy fresh cheese with a smooth, silky texture and a light beige or snow-white color, easy to spread. Its flavor is delicate and neutral, making it an excellent base for both sweet and savory dishes. Nutritionally, cream cheese provides protein, calcium, and fat-soluble vitamins, especially vitamin A, but it can also be relatively high in calories and contain saturated fats, so it is advisable to consume it in moderation as part of a balanced diet. In the kitchen, it works well as a spread for bread, a base for dips, cheesecakes, creams, fillings, and sauces, pairing nicely with herbs, fruits, and spices. It should be stored in the refrigerator in its original packaging or in an airtight container, away from strong odors; once opened, it is best consumed within about 7–10 days. Freezing is possible, but it may change the texture and separate the product, and it is advisable to discard it in case of an unpleasant smell or signs of mold.
