Fine Himalayan salt
Description
Fine Himalayan salt has a characteristic, slightly pink color due to trace amounts of minerals such as iron, and fine, uniform crystals that dissolve quickly, giving dishes a mild, clean taste with subtle minerality, less "sharp" than some refined salts. Nutritionally, it is primarily sodium chloride, providing sodium essential for electrolyte balance; however, it contains small amounts of potassium, magnesium, and trace elements, which is why it can be seen as a pleasant flavor alternative, though not as a significant source of minerals. In the kitchen, fine Himalayan salt is versatile — for cooking, baking, seasoning meats, vegetables, soups, and sauces, as well as a table salt for everyday seasoning, thanks to its quick dissolving properties. It should be stored in an airtight, opaque container away from moisture and strong odors, in a dry and cool place, as it is hygroscopic and can easily clump in humid conditions.
