Fresh mint (leaves) (optional)
Description
Fresh mint has an intense, cooling flavor with a hint of menthol and a distinct green aroma, and its leaves are light green, finely serrated, and decorative. It is low in calories and provides vitamins A and C, minerals, and antioxidants that support digestion, alleviate stomach discomfort, and exhibit antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. In the kitchen, mint works well as an addition to drinks, cocktails and lemonades, desserts, salads, yogurt sauces, lamb dishes, or Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine, as well as a fresh decoration; using the leaves is optional, but it definitely emphasizes freshness. Store them in the refrigerator wrapped in a damp paper towel in a container or standing in a glass of water, changing the water and using them within a few days, or freeze chopped in ice cubes with water or oil for longer storage.
