Description
Semi-fat twaróg or 18% thick cream are two closely related dairy products: twaróg has a fine-grained, white texture and a slightly tangy, fresh taste, while 18% cream is creamy, smooth, and slightly sour with a pleasant richness. Both provide calcium, phosphorus, and B vitamins; twaróg stands out for its high protein content with a moderate amount of fat, promoting muscle recovery and a feeling of fullness, while cream offers concentrated energy and fat-soluble vitamins, although it contains more calories and saturated fats. In the kitchen, they can be used interchangeably as a base for cheesecakes, spreads, sauces, dips, cream soups, or dressings; twaróg pairs well with fillings and baked dishes, while cream is great for soups and sauces for a velvety consistency.
