Ice-cold water
Description
Ice-cold water is a colorless, crystal-clear liquid with no distinct taste, providing an intensely refreshing, cooling sensation in the mouth; its appearance can be enhanced by tiny air bubbles or a thin layer of frost at very low temperatures. Nutritionally, water provides no calories or macronutrients, and in its mineral versions, it contains electrolytes; regular consumption supports hydration, thermoregulation, metabolic functions, digestion, and skin condition, as well as helping with appetite control. In the kitchen, ice-cold water is indispensable for stopping the cooking process of vegetables in an ice bath, cooling cakes and creams, preparing drinks and cocktails, and adjusting the consistency of dough and sauces; it is always useful when quick cooling or refreshing of ingredients is needed. Store it in clean, airtight containers in the refrigerator or a cool place, away from strong odors, and use it fresh within a few days.
