Toothpicks for canapés
Description
Toothpicks for canapés are thin, usually wooden or bamboo sticks with a smooth, natural surface and a pointed end; they also come in plastic or decorative forms with flag-shaped ends. They have no distinct flavor, only a subtle, natural scent of wood, and their aesthetics subtly enhance the composition of snacks. Nutritionally, they add no calories or nutrients, serving as a disposable tool; wooden toothpicks are biodegradable and environmentally friendly. They are most commonly used for skewering canapés made of cheese, cold cuts, olives, cucumbers, fruits, and antipasti, as well as for portioning finger food. They should be stored in a dry, cool place in their original packaging, away from moisture and odors, to avoid mold and contamination; plastic versions should be stored separately and reused only after thorough washing.
