Zioła prowansalskie
Description
Herbes de Provence is a blend of dried herbs characteristic of southern French cuisine, usually containing thyme, rosemary, oregano, basil, marjoram, and sage, sometimes lavender. They have an intense, aromatic, and slightly resinous flavor with a hint of herbal notes, and their appearance is a mixture of small, green-brown flakes with occasional purple accents from lavender. Nutritionally, they are very low in calories, rich in antioxidants, essential oils (e.g., thymol, rosmarinol), and anti-inflammatory and antibacterial compounds that support digestion and immunity. They pair well with meats, fish, roasted and stewed vegetables, sauces, soups, marinades, and spiced oils, adding a Mediterranean character to dishes. Store in an airtight, opaque container in a cool, dry place away from light and moisture; best used within 6–12 months for maximum aroma.
