Nori algae
Description
Nori algae are thin, dark green to black sheets with a delicate, slightly salty-umami note and a subtle marine aroma; when toasted, they become crispy and more intense in flavor. They are low in calories, rich in iodine, fiber, plant protein, and vitamins A, C, and B group, as well as trace elements such as iron, calcium, and magnesium, which can support thyroid function, the immune system, and electrolyte balance with moderate consumption. In the kitchen, nori is great for sushi, onigiri, wraps, rolls, and as an addition to soups, salads, or snacks in the form of toasted sheets. Store tightly closed, in a cool, dry, and shaded place; after opening, it's best to use quickly or keep with a moisture-absorbing sachet in the fridge to maintain crispness and aroma.
