Green food coloring
Description
Green food coloring is a concentrated agent that gives food an intense color ranging from light green to deep bottle green; it is virtually tasteless on its own and does not alter the aroma of dishes. In natural versions (e.g., chlorophyll, spirulina), it may provide small amounts of antioxidants and vitamins, but generally, colorings offer negligible energy and nutritional value, and their health benefits mainly stem from the nature of the base raw material, not from the coloring itself. They are used in glazes, creams, desserts, beverages, pasta, or decorations for savory dishes, where they provide an attractive appearance without changing the taste. Store in a tightly sealed container, in a cool, dark place; liquid or natural formulas may require refrigeration and quicker use, while powders best maintain their durability in a dry environment.
