Canned white beans
Description
Canned white beans have a delicate, slightly nutty flavor and a soft, creamy texture, with their beans being uniformly white to cream-colored. They are a rich source of plant protein, dietary fiber, and minerals such as iron, magnesium, and potassium, as well as folic acid. Regular consumption of beans supports a feeling of fullness, stabilizes blood sugar levels, and may lower cholesterol, although it is worth noting the possible salt content in the brine. In the kitchen, they work well in soups, stews, salads, spreads, and purées, as well as a side for one-pot dishes or sandwich spreads. Before use, it is advisable to drain and rinse the beans to reduce sodium content. Cans should be stored in a dry, cool place until the expiration date, and after opening, transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for 2–3 days or freeze for 2–3 months.
