Coconut flakes
Description
Coconut flakes are small, white pieces of dried coconut flesh with a mildly sweet, nutty-cream flavor and a pleasant, tropical aroma. They have a dry, brittle texture that takes on a golden color and a more intense aroma when toasted, perfectly complementing both sweet and savory dishes. Coconut flakes are a concentrated source of medium-chain triglycerides (MCT), fiber, and minerals such as manganese, copper, and iron, which support energy metabolism and feelings of fullness. They work well as an addition to bread, cakes, granola, smoothies, desserts, and curry dishes, and can be used as a coating or topping. Store the flakes in an airtight container in a cool, dry, and dark place; for longer freshness, it is advisable to keep them in the refrigerator or freezer.
