Description
Light muscovado brown sugar is a moist, fine-grained sugar with a light brown hue and a visible, sticky texture with a melancholic hint of molasses. It has a deep, caramel-toffee flavor with a delicate note of caramelized vanilla and a slightly salty finish, which gives it complexity compared to white sugar. Nutritional values: per 100 g, it provides about 380 kcal and is almost exclusively carbohydrates (sugars), containing trace amounts of minerals such as iron, calcium, potassium, and magnesium due to the presence of molasses, so in moderation, it can be a source of trace elements in the diet, but it should be used sparingly. In the kitchen, light muscovado works great in baking, sauces, marinades, caramelizations, and sticky desserts, adding depth of flavor to cakes, shortbread cookies, gingerbread, or BBQ sauces.
