Gałka muszkatołowa, mielona
Description
Ground nutmeg is a fine, light to dark brown powder with an intense, warm aroma that combines sweet, slightly spicy, and nutty notes; it adds depth and a distinctive fragrance to dishes even in small amounts. From a nutritional standpoint, it is a source of minerals such as manganese, magnesium, and iron, as well as essential oils (including myristicin) with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties when used in moderation, although in large doses these components can be toxic, so it should be used sparingly. In the kitchen, ground nutmeg pairs well with sweet baked goods, creams, puddings, and spiced drinks, as well as sauces, cream soups, mashed potatoes, meat dishes, vegetable dishes, and béchamel sauce. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry, and dark place; best used within 4–6 months to preserve its aroma.
