Dried fruit tea
Description
Dried fruit tea is a blend of dried fruit pieces, citrus peel, and often floral additions, with an intense, sweet-and-sour aroma and an attractive red-pink infusion. The flavor is dominated by natural fruitiness, ranging from the delicate sweetness of apple to the distinct tartness of berries or hibiscus, and the mixture contains visible pieces of dried apples, berries, peels, and petals. Nutritional values mainly come from the content of vitamin C and antioxidants — the infusion is virtually calorie-free and caffeine-free, supports hydration, may aid digestion, and has anti-inflammatory properties. In the kitchen, it works well as a hot and iced beverage, a base for syrups, drinks, desserts, sauces, and marinades, as well as an addition to compotes and breakfast cereals. Store in a sealed, dry, and dark place, away from moisture and strong odors; best used within 6–12 months.
