Ground coffee
Description
Ground coffee is an aromatic powder ranging in color from light brown to almost black, with an intense aroma of roasted beans and a flavor that can vary from mildly nutty to bitter-chocolate, depending on the variety and roast level. The consistency can range from finely ground to coarser, which affects the extraction and character of the brew. In the kitchen, it works not only as a beverage — it pairs perfectly with desserts, sauces, and rubs for meats, adding depth and a slight bitter note. Nutritionally, coffee is low in calories, provides caffeine, and is rich in antioxidants, especially chlorogenic acids, which, when consumed in moderation, support alertness and metabolism. To preserve the aroma, store coffee in an airtight, opaque container in a cool, dry place away from light and moisture; avoid the refrigerator, and consume ground coffee within a few weeks for the best freshness.
